About this event

This workshop is a presentation of Lead and Leadership, a new Study Guide for mid- and upper-level ESOL students on the theme of public health, created in collaboration between CUNY, the NYC Department of Health, and the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs. The focus of the beautifully designed materials is lead poisoning prevention, and the language and concepts are relevant to public health more broadly. The lessons feature brief narrative and non-narrative readings and linked activities in a fillable PDF ready for use in synchronous or asynchronous classes online. The engaging stories, non-fiction readings and activities are also useful for teaching reading modalities and strategies.

Presenters: David Hellman, David Rowley, Sam Seifnourian

A Zoom meeting link will be sent to all registrants a few days before the session that will allow you to join the workshop
